One-to-one tuition gives students the opportunity to engage with their own preferred style of learning, developing at their own pace and exploring their potential in an environment that is comfortable and supportive of their personal needs.

From the comfort of your own home I offer English literature and spoken English language tutoring online. For online tutoring I use Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.

If you prefer to be tutored in person, I offer English literature and spoken English language sessions at Woodbridge library. The library offers a quiet and relaxing place to learn and local refreshments are on hand.

Unlike in a classroom situation the student as the only pupil of the tutor will have the full attention of the tutor. This one-to-one attention allows the student and tutor to get to know each other, this improves communication between them and assists the student to feel more comfortable in bringing any issues they are having with their learning to the tutor.
The student will be supplied with worksheets appropriate to their learning and any issues the student is having with their learning. Any homework or essays the student wishes to work on can be brought to sessions for assistance and brainstorming. When exam time is close, we will look back over what has been learned and go through example exam questions.
Tutoring helps to improve academic performance, by instilling good study techniques into students and assisting them with any study struggles they are experiencing. Tutors have more time to point out the finer points of texts to students and go over student’s work to show students how their work can be improved in order to acquire higher marks.
The goal of any good tutor is to furnish their student with all the tools to succeed, this includes helping them find the best techniques to help them with their own studying away from session. Learning the best study techniques for their own unique way of learning will stand them in good stead going forward in their educational journey.

Qualification
I have a BA Hons degree in English literature. I also have the TEFL level 5, the highest qualification to teach English as a spoken language.

I have tutored students of different ages and abilities for several years. I have also helped many students achieve their study goals with relevant and personlised learning.

I have a passion for sharing my love of English literature and spoken English. Seeing my students develop their knowledge and love of these two wonderful subjects is special to me.
